Vias Tourism

Take advantage of your 5-star Vias camping vacation to visit the Hérault region.

The beaches of Vias

Sightseeing in the Hérault starts with the coastal town of Vias.

Among the most beautiful places to visit during your camping holiday in Vias are, of course, the beaches! The Viassois coastline is bounded on the east by the mouth of the Hérault and on the west by the beaches of Portiragnes, and boasts no fewer than 9 beaches stretching over a total of 5 km:

  • Plage de la Tamarissière: this wild beach is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet spot to bask in the Occitan sunshine overlooking the Mediterranean.
  • Plages du Clot, de la Farinette and du Libron: vast stretches of fine sand sheltered by dunes, Vias-Plage’s busiest and best-equipped beaches (parking, showers, first-aid station). The one at La Farinette is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
  • Trou de Ragout Beach
  • Sainte-Geneviève Beach
  • Plage du Petit Mousse
  • Dune Beach
  • Mediterranean beach: the vegetation and lack of infrastructure is a plus if you like authenticity.

What to do in Vias

  • Jet-ski baptism: Of course, there are many other water sports to choose from, including kayaking, stand-up paddling, sailing, windsurfing and towed buoys. If you’d like to take away an indelible souvenir of your stay in the Mediterranean, we recommend a jet-ski outing with Playa Watersports.
This nautical base in the Vias-Plage seaside resort rents out water bikes, with or without a license, to those aged 16 and over. From baptism with a pilot to a full-gas sea tour for speed enthusiasts, choose the formula that suits you best to experience intense emotions during your vacation on a low-cost Vias campsite.
  • Test your cool in an escape room: Open to those over 12, Darkside Vias welcomes you for an hour of puzzle-solving to complete your assigned mission. With family or friends (groups of 3 to 6), you’ll take on the role of a Russian baron who watches helplessly as corpses are discovered in his factories.
The success of this escape room lies in its realistic decor and sound effects, its plot, its twists and turns, and the degree of difficulty adapted to the audience. A great way to see just how close-knit your tribe is…

  • Cycle along the Canal du Midi and lose yourself in the vineyards: Vias offers a wide range of activities for mountain bikers. The commune boasts some 20 mountain bike trails in a wide variety of environments. Some itineraries follow the coastline, while others follow the course of the Canal du Midi through the vineyards to neighboring towns such as Montagnac and Florensac.
  • Stroll through the markets: From April to September, the Place du 11 novembre is bustling with activity every Wednesday and Saturday morning. For the rest of the year, the traditional market is held only once a week, on Saturdays.
In high season (July-August), you’ll also have the opportunity to discover the night market, much appreciated by holidaymakers for its friendly atmosphere and variety of stalls. Jewelry, accessories, clothes, sweet and savory products from the region: the night market is the perfect excuse for a gourmet stopover before buying your vacation souvenirs in the Hérault.
  • Treat yourself to a winegrowing getaway: How would you like to go from the sea and volcanoes to vineyards and fine wine tasting? Wine tourism is very much in vogue in Vias and the Languedoc region.
Discover the great estates (Bosc, Preignes le Neuf, Preignes le Vieux, Médeilhan, Saint-Pierre) and, above all, don’t leave without tasting some of the region’s finest wines!
